We grieve the Holy Spirit when we spend more time with the world.
He is grieved when our eyes are glued to worldly entertainment.
He is grieved by our unforgiving hearts.
He is hurt when we are drunk.
He is much grieved when we forget His sacrifice and chase after the world.
Every sin crucifies Him again on that cruel cross.
God was not pleased with Nineveh, but His mercy was above His anger; therefore, He sent the prophet Jonah to warn them. The All-Merciful Father was moved upon seeing the heart of Nineveh and saved them. Yet, the Lord’s word, once it comes out, will perform the deed and return to Him.
Though Nineveh repented after prophet Jonah warned them, they went back to their old ways, and God destroyed Nineveh completely. His words came true after 150 years.
Our world is more sinful than the period of the prophet Jonah. There are just a few more signs, and the Lord will return.
Day after day and night after night this world is with the world.
Are we prepared to face Him? Will we be saved?
Will He say, ‘My good servant, you have pleased Me,’ or show us the way to the Hellfire?
Let’s wait on the Lord and please Him so that we can dwell with Him.
Heaven and Hell truly exist.
Let’s be on the Lord’s side.
“Peter replied, ‘Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit’ (Acts 2:38).
Repentance brings cleansing. When the Lord touches your heart, you will begin to repent. When you feel that you have emptied your heart of all your sins, you have made room for the King of kings to dwell within you. With all your burdens removed, it is time to welcome the Lord.
Though He was born in a manger, the Holy Spirit desires a clean and repentant heart. For repentance and forgiveness, you do not need to go to a priest or a pastor. The Lord Jesus Christ knows all your secret sins; confess them to Him. Only He can forgive our sins, for He is our High Priest. His blood alone can cleanse us from all our sins.
No one is holy, and no one is perfect. King David says that he was born in sin. Once we have confessed all our sins, we should ask the Lord to anoint us with His Holy Spirit. We must not miss that waiting time. The Lord is waiting for us. He sees our thirst to receive Him, and one day He will pour out His mighty Holy Spirit upon you.
You may have a remarkable experience. For some, it may feel like an electric current passing through the body. For others, it may feel like a block of ice being placed upon them. Some may experience their whole body trembling, while others may feel the Lord touch their tongue, and they may speak in unknown tongues.
Encounters with God and such extraordinary experiences often take place in solitude. In the Acts of the Apostles, however, we see a different setting. The time and place of the anointing are determined by Almighty God. The Holy Spirit knows when, where, and how to give Himself, and to whom He chooses to reveal His presence.
Would you like to have such an experience and enjoy the presence of the Holy Spirit?
Kneel before the Lord, repent, and welcome the Holy Spirit into your heart.
Many preachers teach contentment and sufficiency to their congregations, yet they live extravagant lifestyles.
They preach against immorality and adultery, yet some fail to address it within their own households.
They proclaim that the Lord is our Rock, Shield, Strength, and Fortress, yet they travel in bulletproof vehicles and use armed bodyguards, placing their confidence in human protection rather than in God. Even in their own churches, some preachers lack faith in God; they neither trust God nor their own people and move with armed bodyguards while preaching.
Many church members lack discernment and continue to give generously.
These leaders collect tithes from people who walk to church, while they travel in private jets. They live in luxurious mansions and on private islands, while faithful followers struggle to meet basic needs.
God desires to dwell in the humble manger of your heart, not in a rich preacher’s mansion.
The poor and faithful children of God should take heart. The Lord sees your sacrifices and has prepared a place for those who love Him.
Those who exploit God’s people for personal gain and refuse to repent will face God’s righteous judgment.
God wants your heart, not your money.
Lord Jesus Christ said: “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of My Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 7:21–23)
The Holy Spirit speaks, and He guides.
When He guides us, His guidance is always perfect. He guided the Israelites in their day-to-day lives. He guided them to win battles and to speak to kings and their enemies.
When we pay heed to that still, small voice, we can overcome every hurdle, cross seas, break down walls, win battles, feed thousands, and even raise the dead.
We must be filled with the Spirit of Wisdom, and then we will begin to hear that still, small voice.
“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour” (1 Peter 5:8).
Wine, Women, Wealth, and the World: four dangerous Ws that will destroy a person and his ministry and reputation, separating him from God.
“Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit” (Ephesians 5:18).
“Wine is a mocker and beer a brawler; whoever is led astray by them is not wise” (Proverbs 20:1).
“Woe to those who rise early in the morning to run after their drinks, who stay up late at night until they are inflamed by wine” (Isaiah 5:11).
The righteous Job made a covenant with his eyes that he would not look at a woman. Flee youthful lust abstain from sexual immorality and keep yourself holy.
“But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart” ( Matthew 5:28).
The love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. One cannot serve both God and money.
“For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?” (Matthew 16:26)
“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world.”
“Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?” (2 Corinthians 6:14)
The LORD will judge the one who does this; He is no respecter of persons.
Do not allow your daughters to marry their sons, and do not take their daughters for your sons or for yourselves.
Do not eat anything offered to idols, or meat that has been sacrificed.
If we live, we have to live for the Lord; and if we die, we have to die for the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
Nothing should separate us from the Love of Christ.
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
King Asa did what was good and right in the eyes of the LORD, and God did not forsake him. He reigned for forty-one years. For thirty-five years, his heart was fully committed to the Lord. Because there was peace, the land had rest for many years.
“For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is perfect toward him. You have done foolishly in this; therefore, from now on you shall have wars” (2 Chronicle 16:9).
However, when King Asa trusted in the King of Syria instead of relying on God, he lost the peace he once enjoyed. In the thirty-ninth year of his reign, Asa became severely diseased in his feet. Yet in his illness, he sought not the LORD, but physicians. Asa slept with his fathers and died in the forty-first year of his reign.
Trust God. Whenever the kings trusted Him, there was peace; when they yoked themselves with unbelievers, there was no peace.
Let’s trust God, walk with Him, and follow peace with everyone.
“Lord Jesus Christ knew all men, He knew what was in man” (John 2:24,25).
“For mine eyes are upon all their ways: they are not hid from my face, neither is their iniquity hid from mine eyes” (Jeremiah 16:17).
“Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.” Psalm (139:7,8).
The Lord Jesus Christ knew all people. He knew what was in every heart.
He knows you. He knows your thoughts, your words, and your deeds. He knows your past, your present, and your future.
Nothing is hidden from Him. Everything is open before His eyes.
Yet He still calls you to come to Him in faith, for He is full of grace, mercy, and truth.
Wherever the LORD is present, there is holiness, perfection, fullness, and blessings.
Where two or three are gathered, the LORD is there.
The LORD is present when you seek Him wholeheartedly. He is in the prison, in the wilderness, in the dungeon, and in the furnace of fire. He is in the ICU.
He is everywhere; He is omnipresent.
Is He in your home and in your heart?
In every season of trouble, pain, and anxiety—and even in joy and sorrow—seek the place where the LORD resides.
