“Woe to those who rise early in the morning to run after their drinks, who stay up late at night until they are inflamed by wine” (Isaiah 5:11).
The righteous Job made a covenant with his eyes that he would not look at a woman. Flee youthful lust abstain from sexual immorality and keep yourself holy.
“But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart” ( Matthew 5:28).
The love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. One cannot serve both God and money.
“For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?” (Matthew 16:26)
“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world.”
